Below is a short description of the sermon coming up this Sunday. For previous sermons, click here.
We’ve talked about the importance of God’s word, the reasons we need to let it guide our lives, why we need to meditate on it, etc. Last Sunday, we talked about the Spirit of God, the presence of God in our lives. We looked at the combination of Word and Spirit and we were challenged by Jesus’ words that true worshipers MUST worship in the Spirit and in truth.
This Sunday, we will look at a variety of responses of individuals or groups as they hear God’s Word or interact with God. Moses’ bowed down after God passes in front of him. The Israelites stood for ¼ of the day listening to the reading of God’s word, then took another ¼ of the day for confession and worship. In Acts 2, 3000 people were pricked in their hearts and baptized. Later in Acts the Bereans would search the scriptures to verify if it was right.
Join us this Sunday, as we enter worship in the Spirit, we will be challenged to respond. Is your heart open enough to let God’s Word move you?
