Touch the lives of children and families through service, teaching and making Jesus the central focal point of our Christian walks.
Children’s Ministry exists to prepare children for a life of spiritual discipleship by teaching them that above all else, God loves them and wants them to live in relationship with Him. Also, to show them that service is an important part of our Christian walk.
The Essentials of the Kingdom Kids:
1) Kingdom Kids will be kid-focused and fun.
Children learn best when lessons and activities are developmentally age appropriate and fun! We will strive to always be creative, joyful, and relevant to the life of a child.
2) Kingdom Kids value and equips parents.
Parents are the spiritual leaders of the home. God designed this perfect plan for families so that children will grow in wisdom and stature. The Kingdom Kids ministry encourages and equips parents for the awesome task of child rearing, during church and at home.
3) Kingdom Kids believe the Bible.
The Bible is God’s true Word to every person and should be the truth in every childs life. Kingdom Kids will be relevant to children, helping children shape their faith in the context of the Scriptures, their relationships and God’s power in their lives.
4) Kingdom Kids values relationships.
Every child needs solid Christian friends and mentors in their lives. These friends and mentors grow closer to one another as children explore God’s world through play and study. Ultimately, our dream is that every child should develop a relationship with Christ and choose Him as their Savior.
5) Kingdom Kids love Jesus.
Kingdom Kids are disciples of Jesus. Kingdom Kids worship, learn and serve on a regular basis, just like every other member of Downtown Church of Christ. Kingdom Kids are encouraged to grow spiritually through daily prayer, reading and devotions. Kingdom Kids actions speak louder than word.
“These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts.
Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and
when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”
