Kingdom Kids

“Let the little children come to me,

and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven

belongs to such as these.”  Matthew 19:14

Kingdom Kids is our children’s education program for kids from birth through 6th grade.  We offer Bible classes for all ages every Sunday morning and Wednesday night.  Other events include:  Vacation Bible School, LTC (Leadership Training for Christ), Children’s Worship (ages 3-K), Family Game Nights, service projects, and lots more.

Our Mission:

Kingdom Kids’ mission is to partner with families to give our children a solid spiritual foundation for life, built on God’s Word in an environment that is Christ-centered and kid-appropriate.

Our Vision:

Kingdom Kids’ vision is to TRAIN up our children in the way they should go so that when they are grown they will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6)

Teach:  In every class, the Bible will be opened and lessons will be presented about God’s love for the world and how Jesus is the manifestation of that love.  Children will learn that God has had a plan to redeem us even before the world was created.  They will learn that in this plan Jesus came to save us from sin and by choosing to follow in his footsteps, we can have a home in heaven with God.   All scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.  2 Timothy 3:16-17

Reinforce:  Parents are a child’s first and best teachers.  Bible class and the children’s ministry are a place for those teachings to be reinforced.  The church is not a replacement for family Bible study but is a source of encouragement, tools and ideas to further the teaching that is being done at home.  And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart.  You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.  Deuteronomy 6:6-7

Application:  Along with teaching the Bible, application must be made to make the concepts and ideas come to life in a child’s eyes.  Faith, hope and joy are big concepts for children and just reading a story from the Bible may not be enough for them to understand.  Classes should include games, role-playing, crafts and real-life examples to help convey the concepts so children can apply them to their lives and live what they have learned.   But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.  James 1:22

Inspire:  It is a sad statistic that many children grow up and leave the church.  They give many reasons for doing this including not feeling like a part of the body, thinking that “church” is old-fashioned, and not seeing the importance of forgiveness or worship.  We want to find ways to inspire our children to make faith their own by encouraging them to do great things even as young children.  There are so many ways they can serve and find their place in the body.  Looking at the faces of our sweet children we see future elders and deacons, preachers and teachers.  Giving kids opportunities to serve and use their gifts to help others will grow their faith and show them that we need them in the body.  Kids are not the church of tomorrow, they are the church of today.   Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.  1 Timothy 4:12

New Christians:  The ultimate goal of children’s ministry is to help our children obtain all the tools they need to make the decision to become a Christian.  We are setting the ground work for faith in these young years so that when our kids are ready, they will decide they want to follow Christ.   Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.  Romans 12:2
